Finding the Racial Wealth Gap

(Scroll down for more information and link to detailed directions.)

Please join us for this experiential event to discover how structural racism creates poverty, inequity, and a racial wealth gap.

Sponsored by Pittsburgh Pathworkers Confronting Racism & created by Bread of the World

The racial wealth gap is a critical issue where a typical Black family has only $0.15 in wealth for every $1.00 a typical White family has.

This profound economic disparity is the direct result of systemic racism, rooted in historical and ongoing discriminatory policies and practices that have severely limited the ability of Black Americans and other marginalized groups to accumulate wealth. The gap continues to worsen.

Participating in this exercise offers a powerful, felt sense of how these racist policies impact our lives, fostering enhanced understanding, self-awareness, and growth concerning systemic racism.
