This committee maintains all financial records, processes payments for workshops, donations, and book sales, handles deposits, pays bills, and conducts internal audits.

Pausing to carefully discern and “listen in” to the Higher Self is a consistent practice before financial decisions are made.

 

For 14 years, Judy Kuechenmeister — a founding Board member — has served as our Abundance Chair, though her path there wasn’t obvious even to her. A trained veterinarian, not an accountant, Judy initially doubted she had the skills to serve. As she put it, “You can have that feeling until you get to know yourself — but I could balance my checkbook, so I said I’d try.”

That leap into the unknown is, fittingly, one of the very things Pathwork asks of us. She credits then-president Joann Gago, “wise and patient,” for training her into the role.

Reflecting on her years in this role, Judy shared one of her biggest lessons: that conflict doesn’t mean you have to “kill anybody or separate forever” — just one of the stimulating, growth-filled realizations from her time serving this community.

 

Judy will soon pass the torch as chairperson to Laurie Richtmeyer; the two are diligently working on the transition over the summer. With a background in finance and accounting, Laurie has been active in Pathwork since 2019, recently graduated from Teacher Training, and currently serves as the newest member of the Board. Judy is confident Laurie will continue to honor the principles the committee has long used in its decision-making and bring much to the role.

 

 

Sheila McBride (photo not available) also recently graduated from Teacher Training, joined the committee several years ago and has been instrumental in helping organize its work. Judy calls her presence “a big blessing.”

 

Honorable mention: Although not currently serving, Kay Comini, was a pivotal member for years. Also a founding Board member and the committee’s other original member, Judy believes that Kay brought a clarity of mind that was key to the committee’s early formation and growth — even though, as Judy laughingly admits, “we continued to pull her along” for years after Kay had hoped to step back.
